What is Thermal Imaging?

Thermal Imaging, also known as Thermography, is a highly flexible and effective diagnostic technique used across all industries to detect and diagnose any abnormalities and inefficiencies in plant equipment and assets using different tools.

What are the benefits of Thermal Imaging?

  1. Non-contact implementation
Due to the nature of the application, the user is able to conduct the assessment at a distance from the targeted asset or equipment.
  2. Increase workforce safety
The user can safely measure the temperature of moving objects, very hot objects (Up to 2000°C) and high voltage objects from a safe distance.
  3. Detailed analysis
Thermal Imaging gives us an overall temperature profile of the subject rather than the temperature at one point.
  4. Live imagery
The user is able to take live images of the affected asset or equipment.
  5. Use as a valuable maintenance tool
Thermal imaging allows the user to determine when maintenance is required and to plan when maintenance takes place, reducing the risk of costly outages.
  6. Increased output
Due to the implementation, Thermal Imaging requires little to no downtime of the targeted asset or equipment which reduces the need for downtime and unplanned outages. It also can help increase equipment efficiencies to increase output.
  7. Save money
Avoid expensive equipment problems, unplanned outages and service downtime, potentially reduce the need for additional manpower, staffing resources can be utilised in other maintenance areas and many more
