TDR2 pile integrity tester
The TDR2 is a lightweight and rugged, self-contained pile integrity testing system.
This highly versatile pile integrity test system can be used to test pre-cast concrete, cast-in-place concrete and timber piles of varying dimensions.
TDR2 can locate anomalies including shaft restraints, overbreak, cracks, reductions in sections and zones of poor quality concrete. This innovative system can also measure pile length, pile stiffness and mobility to further assess concrete quality and pile section.
Using solid state memory the TDR2 unit is built for security and speed of operation, with a backlit screen for working in dark environments. Supplied with a tough case and high quality waterproof connectors as standard, the unit can be easily transported and used in inclement weather conditions.

The TDR2 system is supplied with a powerful software analysis program, to enable more detailed analysis of changes in the pile section and the influence of soil.
The TPAP software is an easy to use platform for analysing results and producing reports. Piles are tabulated and automatically sorted into numerical order, and test results can then be accessed directly from the table.
Analysis of pile length can be carried out either in the velocity or mobility views and interpretation can be confirmed using the simulation and impedance log modules, removing subjective elements.
Simulation modules
This powerful tool can be used to predict the mobility curve using soil and pile properties. It can also be used to assess piles with anomalies by using curve matching in real-time. Up to 10 geotechnical layers can be input to simulate real ground conditions.
Impedance log
The pile shaft inpedance is separated from soil effects and plotted against depth. This can effectively be viewed as a pile cross section profile. Often, complex time domain results can be resolved using this method.
The Transient Dynamic Response (TDR) test is a rapid method of assessing the integrity of both pre-cast and cast in-situ concrete piles.
After ensuring that the concrete in the pile head is visually free of loose materials and contaminants, a geophone sensor is placed in contact with the pile head and struck axially using the systems force response hammer.
The response of both transducers is measured simultaneously, and the velocity and force signals and processed and displayed on the test unit.
By assuming a wave speed velocity it is possible to calculate the pile length. Reflections can also be obtained from acoustic anomalies within the pile shaft. At low frequencies the response is generally linear allowing measurement of the dynamic pile head stiffness.
TECO pile integrity tester
The TECO time domain system is used for checking the integrity of concrete piled foundations.
Using solid state memory the equipment is built for security of data and speed of operation. With a rugged yet lightweight casing, backlit LCD screen and waterproof connectors the TECO unit is easy to transport and can be used in inclement weathers.
A user friendly menu system guides the operator and displays data in an easy to follow format. Data is transferred to the windows based TEAP analysis software through a USB interface.
The site unit can measure pile length and provides the operators with a choice of filters to suit the application. This versatile system can be used to test pre-cast concrete, cast-in-place concrete and timber piles of most dimensions.

The TEAP2012 software is supplied as standard and provides an easy to use platform for analysing test results and producing reports. The software can tabulate the data and present all response curves either individually or up to 8 test results per page for comparison.
Response curves can be filtered and exponentially amplified to help detect weak responses from depth and signal polarity can be reversed to suit the users’ preference.
Piles are tabulated and automatically stored into numerical order. The test results can then be accessed directly from the table.
The user is able to define what variables to include in report tables select different concrete velocities and save commonly used interpretations. Overall site comments can be included with the table and the user’s company logo can be stamped on each page.
The print menu enables 4 or 8 plots per page to be presented and depth scales to be normalised.
TECO-LITE pile integrity tester
The TECO-LITE is a wireless foundation testing system, used for checking the integrity of concrete pile foundations.
The TECO-LITE system uses a rugged PDA to receive and analyse data, with a wireless Bluetooth transducer to measure the acceleration response of the foundation.
The PDA screen is clearly visible in bright daylight and is provided with a backlight for night operations if required.
Data can be transferred to the windows based TEAP analysis software through a USB interface or Bluetooth for more detailed analysis and reporting.
The flexibility of this system means it can be used to test pre-cast concrete piles, cast-in-place foundations and timber piles of most dimensions. Typical anomalies that may be located include shaft discontinuities, overbreak or bulges, reductions in section or necking and zones of poor quality concrete.
Benefits of the TECO-LITE wireless pile integrity testing system:
