Vibration Analysis Awareness

COURSE SUMMARY

The course is intended for those who want a basic introduction on how to correctly collect a vibration measurement from rotating machinery using a vibration data-collector and then upload the collected data to a database for analysis and reporting.

The course is ideal for those that might be new to vibration analysis, or are responsible for collecting vibration data in the field and just want to be more confident in collecting good data, understanding the data and interpreting the information for fault diagnosis and correction.

On this course, delegates will use a mix of theory and practical learning to reinforce key learning points. The practical element will involve exploring Emerson’s 2140 data collector and MHM software (or alternative hardware & software) to understand how to set up routes, change settings and collect good data.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

  • Understand the basic principles of condition monitoring and vibration analysis.
  • Knowledge of common vibration patterns and how they are identified.
  • Understand how to identify defects such as bearing faults, looseness, resonance, electrical faults, etc.
  • Be confident in using a vibration data-collector and know how to correctly take a vibration measurement.
  • The ability to upload collected data to a database.
  • Be able to Interpret vibration data for fault diagnosis and correction.
